Costa Rica has become
a well-known tourist destination.

There are many beautiful and interesting places in Costa Rica, all within a relatively small area of 51,000 km². There are two seasons: wet and dry. The wet, or green, season runs from May to December in the central plateau and the Pacific coast; the dry season lasts from January to April. However, in the Caribbean basin, it can rain year-round, except in October.
